Yay, We're on our way to Spring

We've had the winter solstice and Spring is on it's way. Outside there are no indicators it will ever be warm again and in reality we are in the middle of winter but a new warm eggie in your hand tells you things will change soon.

Little Pearl was the first off the bat - of course there's nothing else I'd expect from an Australorp. Very oval are her eggs - no egg plate candidates there.
Hattie was next, hers are very round - much like her.
Annie has started up over the last few days. Her eggs seem enormous. A lovely typical egg shape but she reserves artistic expression. Each egg is artfully speckled. She is quite a big girl now.

The RIR babies are getting big and tower over their silkie mother. She has finally decided she's done with motherhood (for the next two weeks ;) ) Check out the pics to see how much they have grown. Clifford is the Cockerel. Edna and Lucille are the two pullets.
